Alexander Russo, Cartoons: “Climb That Tree”
Do we treat all our students the same especially in testing? Surely the answer is “No”. As much as possible we would like to produce a fair test. What is a fair test? A fair test or assessment gives equitable opportunities to students to demonstrate what they have learnt. But how do we design a fair test?
i. Clearly state the learning outcomes
ii. Share and help students understand important goals
iii. Match assessment to content taught in class and vice versa
iv. Design authentic assessment to drive the curriculum; develop meaningful tasks to show mastery
v. Interpret and evaluate the outcome of the assessment appropriately
